About the AiR Scheme

Middlesex University's highly successful Artist in Residence scheme – now in its 5th year – works as a partnership between artist and university placing the artists in workshops alongside students where they can offer guidance and support whilst developing their own practices and utilizing the wide range of university facilities.

Our artists are a fantastic resource. They are explorative and experimental and it’s great seeing them discussing work with the students. I really like the fact that we’re helping emerging artists to get established and we benefit from the interesting things they produce – it keeps the dream alive!

MID AiR offers visitors the opportunity to experience a selection of each artist’s work - both past and present - at the midway point in their 2 year residencies. In addition a series of short films exploring each artist's practice will be shown both within the exhibition and online.
